Amazon + Meta + Google: A Full-Funnel Plan for D2C Brands

Most growing D2C brands end up with three separate efforts: an Amazon agency, a Meta freelancer and someone handling Google. Each optimises its own dashboard. Nobody owns the question that matters — is the business, as a whole, acquiring customers profitably? A full-funnel plan answers it.

Each Channel Has a Different Job

Meta creates demand. People on Instagram and Facebook are not searching for your product; good creative introduces it to them. Google captures intent. When someone searches for your category, your brand or a problem you solve, Search and Shopping put you in front of them at the moment of need. Amazon converts. In India especially, many shoppers who discover a brand elsewhere go to Amazon to read reviews, compare and buy — with delivery and returns they already trust.

"When Meta spend goes up, branded searches on Google and Amazon often go up too. If each channel is judged alone, that lift gets credited to the wrong place — or to nobody."

The Halo Effect

Discovery on one channel frequently shows up as a sale on another. A shopper sees a Reel, searches your brand on Amazon two days later and buys. Meta's dashboard may never see that sale; Amazon's will credit a branded keyword. This is why cutting Meta because "its ROAS looks low" can quietly shrink Amazon and Google results a few weeks later.

How to see it

  • Track branded search volume on Google (Search Console, Google Ads) and on Amazon (Brand Analytics, if you have Brand Registry) alongside Meta spend.
  • Use Amazon Attribution, where available for your marketplace, to measure traffic you send from Meta or Google to your Amazon listings.
  • Run deliberate tests — for example, a planned increase or pause in Meta spend in one region — and watch total sales, not just Meta-reported sales.

Website or Amazon?

Sending Meta traffic to your own site builds a customer list, gives you first-party data and keeps the full margin. Sending it to Amazon often converts better because of trust, reviews and delivery promises — and Amazon's algorithm rewards the extra sales velocity with better organic rank. Many brands do both: own-site for hero products and bundles, Amazon for categories where marketplace trust drives conversion. The right split depends on your margins, repeat-purchase rate and how strong your Amazon listing is.

A Starting Budget Framework

There is no universal split, but a sensible starting point for an early-stage D2C brand might look like this, then adjusted every month on results:

  • Amazon advertising: enough to defend your brand terms and win your core category keywords profitably
  • Google Search & Shopping: capture branded and high-intent category searches, budget capped by available demand
  • Meta: the growth lever — the channel you scale when you want more new customers, funded by the efficiency of the other two

Full-Funnel Checklist

  • One owner and one weekly report covering Amazon, Meta and Google together
  • Blended metrics (total revenue ÷ total ad spend) reviewed alongside platform ROAS
  • Branded search volume tracked on Google and Amazon against Meta spend
  • A clear rule for which products send traffic to the website vs Amazon
  • Consistent creative and offer across channels so the message follows the customer
  • Monthly budget reallocation based on blended results, not one channel's dashboard

One Team, One Number

The advantage of running all three channels together is not just convenience. It is that budget can move to wherever the next rupee does the most good for the business — and nobody is defending their own channel's dashboard at the expense of the total.

Customers do not experience your marketing as separate channels. They see an ad, search, read reviews and buy wherever it is easiest. A full-funnel plan simply organises your spend around how they actually behave.
